Step 03: Action for Removing Background from Any Image

Right-click inside the marching ants and choose ‘Refine Edge’ from the pop-up menu until the list is complete. You will use the Refine Edge dialog to fine-tune your range for improved performance.

First, set the View Mode to ‘On White’ or some other alternative tools for it. That will allow you to see which areas of the edge need the most assistance. Smooth the jagged edges of your range by increasing the Smooth value slider under Adjust Lip.

Step 04: Reviewing and Finishing

Reviewing the results is the last move. Select Layer via Copy from the context menu when you right-click inside your range. Without editing the original picture, your chosen picture will be assigned to a new layer with no backdrop.

Tenable the Cyber Exposure company, today released the ‘Cybersecurity in Operational Technology: 7 Insights You Need to Know’ report, an independent study by the Ponemon Institute. The study identifies the true extent of cyberattacks experienced by critical infrastructure operators – professionals in industries using industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT). It found that 90% of respondents stated their environments had been damaged by at least one cyberattack over the past two years, with 62% experiencing two or more attacks.

Key highlights from the study include:

  • Insufficient visibility into the attack surface: 80% of respondents cited lack of visibility into the attack surface, knowing what systems are part of their IT environments,  as the number one issue in their inability to prevent business-impacting cyberattacks.
  • Inadequate Staffing and Manual Processes Limit Vulnerability Management: Lack of personnel and a reliance on manual processes were cited by 61% and 55% of respondents respectively as major obstacles in their ability to assess and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • C-Suite Buy-In Is Key: 70% of respondents view increasing communication with executives and board members as one of their governance priorities for 2019.

The convergence of IT and OT is a reality in today’s digital era. But this convergence has connected once-isolated OT systems to a variety of attack paths. This Ponemon study, based entirely on the self-reported experiences and observations of ICS and OT experts themselves, confirms that the threats to critical infrastructure are real, severe and ongoing.

OT professionals have spoken – the people who manage critical systems such as manufacturing plants and transportation almost unanimously state that they are fighting-off cyberattacks on a regular basis,” said Eitan Goldstein, Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, Tenable. “Organizations need visibility into their converged IT/OT environments to not only identify where vulnerabilities exist but also prioritize which to remediate first. The converged IT/OT cyber problem is one that cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure teams must face together.”

The spirit of the two day meet was to exchange thoughts, ideas, challenges and opportunities in the market. The partner meet also included a visit to R&M’s recently inaugurated state-of-the-art production facility and Customer Experience Center.

Array Networks Inc. today announced the release of the Monitoring and Reporting System (MARS), which provides highly granular in-depth monitoring and reporting for one or more physical or virtual Array APV Series Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs). MARS enables IT admins to ensure network uptime, application security, and a superior user experience by providing on-demand visibility into traffic patterns, potential server availability or responsiveness issues, handshake and authorization issues, and other indicators of risks to application security and server efficiency.

IT departments the world over are under increasing pressure to maximize the performance and availability of applications and servers, as well as the overall user experience, in order to support greater productivity,” said Vinod Pisharody, Chief Technology Officer at Array Networks. “Through MARS, network administrators now have a powerful tool to proactively address problematic servers and other trends, and ensure a strong security posture appropriate for their organization.”

Available in Basic or Advanced versions to fit the needs of customers running as few as a single Array ADC or as many as 32 Array ADCs, MARS provides a centralized console with graphical dashboards of user and server behaviors as well as traffic managed by Array server load balancing. Because of the unique position of the APV Series in the network – in front of data and application servers – and due to their ability to decrypt SSL traffic at near wire speed, MARS can provide unique insights that allow network administrators to quickly spot trends and trouble spots and remediate as needed to ensure performance and user experience.

MARS is available as a virtual appliance for VMware environments or for Array’s AVX Series Network Functions Platform, and offers five standard dashboards that are customizable in the Advanced version:

  • HTTP Response Codes Dashboard – Provides visualization of server performance and optimizations as well as server error codes for fast diagnosis and remediation of problem areas
  • Cache Results Dashboard – Array ADCs can cache frequently requested information and pages in memory to speed response times. The dashboard provides an overview of uncached URLs that could benefit from caching, top users and requests, and other information to help administrators better manage data caching
  • Server Delay Dashboard – Displays server response times and highlights server delays to help pinpoint bottlenecks that decrease overall performance and impact the user experience
  • SSL Traffic Dashboard – Displays SSL/TLS versions and cipher suites utilized by traffic processed by the Array ADCs, giving the administrator insights to help configure and fine tune the organization’s security posture
  • Alerts Dashboard – Graphically represents trends, priorities, problematic IP addresses and other performance issues, and allows prioritization based upon impact and severity.
